A shadow means more winter.
I live only 1/2 hour from Puxsutawney Phil, the Pennsylvania groundhog forecaster and I will bet he see's his shadow. With this much crappy weather I don't see anything but 6 more weeks forecast. (Not that I want it)

A friend and I went to see the groundhog about 8 years ago. It was snowing like crazy up on the knob, sky full of clouds and he did 'see' it. So, probably he will. (Although the shadow is probably caused by the tv cameras!)...:)

Surprise - no shadow. Spring will be right around the corner.
