I was sitting in the recliner, looking at a quilt block book & some scraps I had bought yesterday at a "gently used" store. :)

Cat jumps between me & the book on my knees. (I'm very tall). Lays down. I love on him, keep on studying blocks. love on him, he loves on me back. Finally I tell him (little girl Danae from the comics pages calls boys "stinky boogerbrains".) he's a dirty filthy stinky burgerbrain cat & I'm cooking quilts. He wraps both paws around one of my arms, claws extended & bites my hand.

LOL he was mad! I laugh & tell him he's beautiful & he cuddles back down.

I'm losing him, slowly. Found a tumor nearly 4 wks ago. Painfully thin, hurts my heart to pet him, he's all bone. Stopped eating a few days ago. Asked for food yesterday, gave him 1 1/2 T, but he only at 1/3 of it.

Every morning he would get on me for brief cuddles, then "feed me!". First time in several days, ? couple a weeks?, he jumped on the bed this morning for cuddles. I was wanting up, but tis sat, so I petted him until he left my chest. It was a good long while, 10-12 min. Chirping & purring. sweetie. Used to be every day.

DD has said goodbye, she always called him "bubba". I guess cuz we had him at a week old. Fed him before work, took him to work with me in a 18gal rubbermaid bin, fed him at 10, noon, took him home & fed him, left him, dd fed him at 3:30 when she got home, then 2-3 more times of an evening thru 12-1:00. When he was two weeks old, i got a new job, in a accounting firm, no way I could take him to work. (know now, it probably would have been all right, but you know, new person) so, every day, I rushed home at lunch to feed my kitten. That develops a more intense relationship than you have with other kittens you get at 6 wks.

*Remembering bits & pieces of his youth*. What joy they bring us.

So very sorry for you....we've lost several kitties over the past 5 years and it breaks my heart for you. It's so hard to see them suffer and to offer them the final comfort. My thoughts are with you during this sad and difficult time.
