tieing the quilt with yarn
#1
I finished the offset square quilt top which I am delighted with and would make another one any day. Now I am tieing the center of each pinwheel with yarn. How do I keep the yarn from fraying. I read a blog that said fraycheck because it dries clear and soft. Well it does dry clear but never ever used it that it was soft. I tried one piece of yarn and it is too scratchy when it dried for my desires. Any recommedations would be greatly appreciated. And maybe when the quilt is washed it would be soft on yarn I just don't want to chance it without your wonderful responses.

I often see children's quilts come into our Project Linus chapter that have been tied with yarn. Usually the scratchiest of yarns will soften up when the quilt is washed and dried. I love the way it frays. Children will "pat" the frayed yarn while the are falling asleep. It is a nice texture against the quilt.

Cut the yarn closer to the top, if you don't like the fraying. I had one quilt that was tied with yarn, washed a lot and never had any knots come undone. Personally I use Perle cotton, I like it a lot better.
