Default Help Identifying old Needles

Hello all,
A friend found these needles at a yard sale . I don't know what kind of machines they will go to. On one of them the shaft is flat on one side, the other is round.
Anyone know what they are and what they might go to?

Hi,

The Free Rotary needles fit Free Westinghouse rotary, Graybar rotary, kenmore 49, Sewhandy and others. The Davis 1x2 are used for Davis machines using "Davis long" needle. Both types are obsolete and somewhat valuable domestic needles. The 16 x 226 is for an industrial machine application.

The Free and Davis should sell easily on ebay for $1-$2 each needle if you have no use for them.

Hi Joe,

Sorry to hear that. My income is pretty small myself but ebay does help out quite a bit.

They are not that expensive when a pack of 10 regular modern needles can be as much as 7.00. I have Twin needles that cost over 4 .00. If I needed an elusive needle for a machine I wouldn't bat an eye to pay 1.00 or more for one.

I wouldn't either if I could afford it. But I just can't. We buy our regular needles from JoAnn Fabrics when we have a 50% off or better coupon.

I'm very happy if I can get needles for 50cents each - and accept $1 a needle for the vintage one. Most often I will see one 3pack offered for $9 for the ones that are more in demand, which is often the National and New Home. Others are listed at that price all the time, but don't sell. Since I've got machines that take just about every Boye size, I've gotten some great deals buying larger lots of assorted needles.

If it weren't for eBay and the internet, most of this stuff would be in a landfill somewhere -
