Is there a Northcott / Stonehenge fabric that is white?
I bought online a bunch of the Stonehenge Starry Night 2 Snow fabric and I was going to use it as background for a very colorful Storm at Sea and I just realized that it is way too thin to use with dark colors. Just draping it over my fabrics you can see all the colors come right through!!! It is so upsetting because I bought almost 9 yards!! Will have to save it for light fabrics but even then, all the seams will show through.
Anyway, I need a replacement fabric. I am using the Northcott Shimmer fabric line for my colors and need a nice white (not cream) for the back ground fabric that would be of a similar weight. It should have some substance to it so the seams don't show through too much. Any ideas?? I was so excited to start my SAS quilt in the next week and now I'll have to wait Thank you.

My all time favorite pure white fabric is Legacy Studios Bleached Muslin from Joanns. Washes well, nice weight, great hand, good solid weave. I use it for everything along with it's natural sister and colors when I need them.

Just wondering if you also had the batting between the fabrics when you were auditioning it? Maybe the colors wouldn't show through the batting????

I should mention that the Starry Night Snow has a strange texture to it. The "snow" part of it is like white latex paint was splattered at the fabric.
I would like to find a white that has some visual "texture" to it--not a completely solid white. I may just have to find a nice white on white that has good weight to it but those are really hard to find (none at my LQS so I have to buy online and that is very tricky).

Just did a search at Thousands of Bolts. They have one called White Christmas.

You have me totally confused .... I have always found the Stonehenge fabrics to be of a good weight, so am surprised.
If you are already using the Shimmer fabrics .... why not turn to them for your white?

I use white and natural batting when I use a lot of white in the top, and I press my seams toward the dark. I rarely have any seams showing through....just in case that suggestion might help... Your white might be okay?

I want to do a Storm at Sea for one of my sons...can you share with me which pattern you're using..I have looked at a couple but not sure which ones I will go with..I also like the SAS combined with the Snails Trail...I too also thought that Northcott were all a nice weight...
