Default Fat Quarters and Charm Squares

I'm a Michigan Snowbird in Florida for the winter. Due to space constraints in both the car and in my sewing space in my Florida home I only brought one Art Bin box of charm squares and two Art Bin boxes of Fat Quarters. I've decided to not buy any fabric except for background or backing and only use the fat quarters and Charm squares I brought with me. I realize I could search the internet for patterns but would like to hear from members of this Quilting board about their favorite fat quarter and Charm square patterns. Anything from potholder to throw size quilt patterns.

Go check on Moda's site. They do have free patterns, including ones for the 2 1/2 inch square candies. I love those little things. I cut Charms down to those.

I second the moda bakeshop; Here are more direct links. They will take you directly to the list of projects for the specific precuts:

Jenny Doan at Missouri Star Quilt Company has zillions of patterns and idea for precuts. Check out her videos on YouTube.

I just posted a tutorial for a patchwork bag made of mini charm squares in the Tutorials section of the board. You would have to 'quarter' your charm squares...

I think Jenny Doan has a pattern made with charm squares and she cuts the charm squares in half diagonally and adds a 1 to 1 1/2" sashing. I think it is something like a "Lattice" pattern. If you have internet just go to the Missouri Star Quilt Co and there is a lot of patterns you could use. Good Luck

Welcome back to Florida. I hope the weather is warm enough for you where you are. We've been experiencing a cooler weather zone where we are on the west coast. Good luck with your projects.

Pat Speth has some wonderful books, including "Nickel Quilts." If you don't want to cut up your charm squares, check out her pattern "Morning Star." I'm in the midst of making it with some fabulous floral charm squares, and it's going together nicely.

. I happen to have that book and am upset with myself because I forgot to bring it to Florida with me. I had that book and a fat quarter book set out to take and must have left them on my cutting table in Michigan! I have lots of floral charm squares! Would you post a picture of the Morning Star quilt you are working on?

. I'm also on the west coast - Bradenton. Loving the weather. The cooler weather suits me just fine. I'm happy just getting away from snow and cold!
