Has anyone attempted this pattern? I believe the author is Danielle Stout

I don't think I've ever seen this, but it looks straightforward. It's only made of plain squares (2 sizes) and "picket fence" units. It looks to be constructed in strips, not blocks.

pretty quilt and looks pretty straight forward piecing with center one larger sq and the outside pieces (including the HST that make up star points) smaller ones. I really like her fabric line on those quilts.

I drew the block out in EQ. It is based on a 16 patch, ie 4 x 4 parts to the block. It can easily be made in an 8 inch block or as a 12 inch block, or even a 16. The whole quilt is made up of this block in varying colors, just turned so that the rays of the star are in the right places. Here's the block and the quilt.

I liked this pattern too. I decided to see how difficult it would be to make by drawing the block in EQ. It's not a hard block at all. The constants are the colors of the stars inside the block and the white squares and Flying Geese. The block I drew is an 8 inch one. This block can be made in 8", 12", or 16" sizes. Here's the block and quilt. All the triangles around the blocks which are set on point should be a constant color. I got lazy and didn't fix that before I saved the image. Well, I decided it would be much better to see what the quilt would look like with the setting triangles, then I looked at the pattern and it had much smaller setting triangles by not including all the block on the outside ones. Still it is a pretty good representation.
