Default Another "how to quilt this"...

For some reason, I am just stuck on what to do on this quilt. Usually one thing leads to another once I start quilting, but not on this one. Part of the problem is I don't think I like that the inner squares are quilted with the little swirl. I have quilted all the squares already and I am NOT going to rip them out. I am OK at FMQ and use my domestic machine so I am open to any suggestions :-)

I love those swirls, keep them. do you want to machine quilt it or hand, also, modern or traditional.
you could quilt the square around it in a wreath pattern

either echo quilt around the squares, or echo quilt squares turning them 45 degrees

You can have your swirls be the center of an elongated Daisy like flower.

I would just finish it with FMQ around the centers.

I like Quiltin' Nan's idea of echoing a square--but at a tilt!

What about a square in a square with decorative stitches.

What is a tilted square? It appears you have stitch in the ditch around the blocks and, if your block is not too big for the usual distance apart for quilting, I'd consider leaving it as it is. Apparently there are other blocks used in this quilt that these blocks are not the "focus"?? Great job on your swirls!

That is the problem. You do not like the swirls (I think they are great!) so it is hard to come up with the next thing. We tend to do this to ourselves more often than not! Think about what it is about the swirls you don't like and work around that. Example - is it because they are circular in a square? If so, perhaps a linear pattern (diamonds?) would work in the rectangular pieces. If you don't care for them being by themselves, perhaps a diagonal line thru the whole quilt would work. Please be sure and post it after you decide.
