Default Opinions RE: Juki MO-2000QVP Serger?

I am considering buying the Juki MO-2000QVP serger and am curious if anyone on the QB has purchased and/or used this serger at all? Only one review on www.patternreview.com
hoping for some add'l input.

Thanks in advance -
Christine

Glad to hear you love it! I view the MO2000QVP as an expensive but well equipped serger that should sustain me for many years. I’d like a machine to accommodate sewing garments as well as heavyweight fabrics. I’m a novice and wonder if I’m over-enamored with its pricey fancy features? I’m curious if those with experience value the features, such as air-threader, 15 stitch options, auto-needle threader, etc..., or are they over-kill?

FYI - I have and appreciate how substantial the Juki TL-2200QVP mini straight-stitch machine is compared to the other major brands that I test-drove. And am assuming the same with this Juki serger.

Thank you again -
Christine

My Juki MO2000QVP was purchased in April, this year, at the Spring Paducah Quilt Show. I absolutely love this machine! Threading the machine is a pleasure - almost magical! Stitch selection, and setup, couldn't be easier! Stitch quality has been consistently perfect! This is the first air-threading serger I've owned and expected that to be the 'best loved' feature about this machine. It's not! The auto-needle threader IS! I cannot say enough positive things about the Juki MO2000QVP - you won't regret purchasing it.

Mizmac00 - thank you for your glowing report I am glad to hear you're pleased with the serger and had anticipated the air-threader to be the 'best loved' feature myself - but who knew the needle threader would take the prize? I've watched several YouTube videos showing the set-up and operation of several 'top rated' sergers and the MO2000QVP surely does seem magical compared to the rest. The plan is to stop by the Juki dealer (2 1/2 hrs away) on the way to spend Christmas with family. You only live once, right?

Merry Christmas!

I know the Babylock Ovation has speed control - I imagine others do as well.

Good luck!

I have been serging for over 20 years. My first serger was a manual thread. Hated it. My last 2 have been auto thread and it is the best thing since sliced bread.. You will not regret it. Juki is a very good company.

I think Santa will be delivering the Juki serger and I can’t wait! Can’t imagine I will regret a thing!
