Default When I知 not quilting.......

I like to crochet in the evenings. I usually make baby blankets, but this week, I finished a shawl that I can use this summer to take the ac chill off my arms.

Beautiful! I use to crochet when my kids were small. I made useful things for my kids like mittens, hats, scarves, pullovers, and slippers. Potholders and dishcloths for gifts. Being a young family we never had extra spendable cash and crochet was a very inexpensive hobby. I could buy yard at the grocery store then. A skein or two in with the groceries! I found Annie's Attic Crochet Newsletter and it was like Christmas with every issue. I still have every issue!

Beautiful. I also like to crochet or hook rugs. While on vacation i crocheted baskets which were a big hit.

I use to crochet afghans, shawls, even a very large granny square bedspread with pillow covers. I gave my crochet hooks and yarn to my daughter, she crochets in the evenings also.

I do the same thing... when it's time to 'go to the couch', I have yarn and hook nearby. I've always been an avid knitter but lately would rather crochet. Maybe because you don't have to think all that much to do a baby afghan. Here's one I made and donated:

Love your shawl...it's beautiful. Nice basket too, ckcowl.

Me, too! I just picked crochet back up after 40 years. It's my 'couch craft'! Thanks for the post. I thought I was the only one
