Quilt as you go blocks in progress...
This is my first time doing quilt as you go blocks. So far I have taken each block and made a quilt sandwich (block, batting, and backing). Next I have stitched in the ditch of each quilt sandwich to stabilize the layers. I will have to add more quilting to some blocks to insure the quilting distance requirement is met as stated on my batting. This has been a fun process so far. I am deciding on what fabric to use to sash the blocks to unify them. Any ideas are welcome. Thanks for taking a look!

Congrats on learning a new technique. Your blocks are fun and cheerful. Another vote to try black sashing or perhaps the pretty green would work too. Audition a strip of fabric and see which ones play nice with the blocks.

Because you have so many nice, bright colors in the blocks I would go with a black sashing. That would make all those blocks really pop. It's going to be so pretty when it's finished. Glad you are enjoying the QAYG method. I'm going to try that someday. TFS
