Default Design board

I want to make a design board. I have the foam insulation board. Is flannel a good thing to use to cover the board?
Thanks

I used flannel from Joann's on mine. Some people use batting. Flannel is cheaper. lol

I used a nice thick batting but betware - one of my kitties decided she liked it better than her scratching post. Maybe I'll try flannel when I decide to re-cover it.

I use batting, thankfully my cats only like to lick it and not scratch it! I could not quilt without a design wall!

Flannel. If you can’t find it wide enough, buy a sheet

I covered the foam board with batting. The fabric and blocks cling so well to it. I love having a design wall. The flannel may be fine, too. Just my experience.

My design walls of assorted sizes are all covered with fleece.

Mostly black fleece but a couple of the smaller ones have white fleece.

Whatever you do, you will wonder how you ever quilted without a design wall/board.
And before long, you'll make it bigger, or have more than one!

I used flannel. I purchased 108” wide white flannel from fabric.com. It worked nicely
