Default White 765

I was gifted a white model 765 and it works beautifully. I was wondering if there is a way that I can slow the machine down. The foot control seems to function normally but no low end speed. I plugged the white into my pfaff 130 foot control control and that worked well as far as slower speed. I have considered an electronic pedal but I cannot find one that is rated to handle the 1.7 amp motor on the White. Any suggestions? Best regards, Tom

Your controller probably needs adjusting. Older controllers were made to have both slow and high speed. As they get older, the parts don't move as they should. Andy Tube does a Singer 401 controller rebuild on youtube. It just involves cleaning and lubricating, if I remember correctly. (I have a 401 controller that wouldn't do low speeds.) I would assume your controller works the same way.

Thanks for the direction on this. The video was good. It looks like the controller is fastened together without screws so I may have to study it a bit more.

Welcome.

Is your controller plastic or metal?
