Default Minnesota D Hand crank

I was unattended at lunch time today. This Minnesota D had a price drop so I took another glance. Wow, it is a hand crank.2 miles away. It was made by Davis about 1900-1910. vibrating shuttle and bobbin ( both missing) 3/4 size. Yep I had to have it. Also needs a needle and a bobbin tire. I love leaf tension.Minnesotas were sold by Sears since they got their start in that state. Gummy, but it turns a bit.I wonder if it will go out on demos with my GF and I Sadly no case nor base and the decals are badly silvered.

I have another Davis HC so I'll borrow parts and get it running again. Maybe then I'll chase the other parts.
Thanks.

Nice score. I hope you can find the parts. I looked at the ISMACS needle list and that model appears to takes the 1x2, aka "Davis Long" needle.

Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.

Sure did -- It is quite season appropriate. You are braver than I am.

Doh moment!. I was starting to oil this beastie up. Lots of noise and drag just on the handwheel when it was disengaged from driving the innards Oiled port, front and rear gaps, Hit it again. Oh, the naked pulley for the bobbin winder tire was leaning against it. I moved that assembly and was a happy guy.

One interesting feature is the arm from the HC goes into a groove on the handwheel. No slack like the Singers have.

Oiled but not cleaned. Everything that is there appears to be working Oil holes on the top near the handwheel are drilled at angles.
