Can’t find the feet to my machine

Can’t find the feet to my machine
My sewing room doesn’t look to bad. I can see the floor in most of the room. But I can’t find the feet to my sewing machine. I figure that they are all together. I’ve looked, you know, high and low. Drawers, bins, totes, in piles of stuff. If it was something in the kitchen, I use to pay one of the kids to find it. But this is something I put somewhere! Last year I started a list of “lost/can’t find things “. Crossed them off one at a time. None of the things were actually missing, just couldn’t place them quickly. Can anyone relate to this?

oh yes...I lose my glasses at least once a week...sometimes more. look all over....then I call my sister and ask her where I left them...and then usually I see them....crazy...but it works. but alas....sometimes when I do get around to organizing and cleaning up things, I find I have 2-3 of the same thing...sometimes more....crazy. For my machines....I try and put labels on what feet belong to what machine etc. Try and get everything into a little case for each machine too....when I pass...it will be interesting to see what folks who have to deal with all my machines do....I have visions of mismatched feet and machines everywhere.

I have a 3 in 1 marker, pressing, pointey tool that has grown legs. Easy to loose cuz it's white. I've waste so much time trying to find it. Last time I found it I wrapped blue painter's tape around the handle. Now I notice it blends in with my fav cutting mat...which is blue.

Yes, this happened to me nearly every day until I started purging my house. Got rid of utensils we never use, manuals for things that broke long ago, outgrown clothes, old towels, etc. You get the idea. I went through every closet and drawer and reorganized the items we had left. I was amazed at the stuff I found that I had totally forgotten we had.
Since then, I go through each room once a month. The first weekend it will be the bathroom, the second weekend will be the family room, and so on. This isn't the traditional cleaning, where I'm wiping down surfaces and scrubbing, etc. This is going through the drawers and cupboards, desks and shelves, straightening and reorganizing. The benefit to this is when I am looking for something, I can usually find it pretty quickly because I *just* saw it and put it away. My family has a saying "It's not lost until Mom says it's lost." 🤣

I lose things all the time and when I do find it I am thinking to myself "why in the world did I put that there!!??". I sure the feet to your machine are just sitting back laughing at you and watching you look high and low for them. Good luck in your search.

Right after the holidays I was so frustrated by my messy sewing room that I literally went through the entire thing. It took 8 days but it was soooo worth it.
I purged a ton, donated a ton, bought some organizers and basically reconstructed it.
It's so nice now. I know what I have and where it is. I'm determined to adopt better habits.
Long, tedious job but I love the results.
I've been going through the house as well. Something about January gets me in the mood to organize.

My DH couldn't find the hot spot that goes with his I Pod 2 days ago. We moved furniture, looked in pockets, and in our cars. Even looked in our bed linens. I asked him if he thought it had feet, and ran away. He didn't think that was funny. Today it showed up in his vehicle. I told him now he knows how I feel when I can't find something in my sewing room.
