Default quilt ladder

I have an old wooden ladder I would like to use for displaying my quilts. Any ideas how to prepare the wood to protect my quilts?

I have a friend who used pool noodles cut to the width of the ladder, then cut down the length of one side.

Welcome to the forum from Texas. I think you will like it here. So many kind & friendly quilters on this board.

If you to the search bar at the top right hand side of this board & type in "quilt ladder" you will find a lot of threads that have talked about this very thing. I think you will find all the answers you need & then some. I think using a ladder is a great way to show off your quilts. Just don't forget to re-hang them every now & then. We would love to see your finished project when you are done.

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. The pool noodle would work well if you got the ones with the hole down the middle. I use pool noodles for all kinds of things.

We use the pool noodles for insulating our outside pipes in the winter. We get them at the Dollar Tree & are are a lot cheaper than the ones from the hardware store.

I have an old ladder with quilts on it. I put sheets under the quilts so the quilts don't touch the wood.

The search feature in the forum software is very finicky. You'll have better luck if you go to google and type in "quiltingboard.com quilt ladder".

Actually, if you look at the very bottom of those threads, there may be some more links. I did notice some were for "Jacob's Ladder" but there were some for "Quilt Ladder"

Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.

Welcome to the QB from SE Michigan. There are so many wonderful people here and so much to learn and share. I am glad you are jumping right in to join the fun. I can't wait to see your ladder when it is finished.
