Not sure what I did wrong with my first topic (can't find it), so I'm trying again. Just turned 60 on 6/28. Was a workaholic in the San Fran Silicon Valley who had NO time for hobbies until I got laid off last year. Now I just want to sew, crochet, and socialize. I am a neophyte quilter who so far needs fast gratification, thus have only completed several small projects. I'm attaching a few pictures here. None of these are original creations. The gecko is my very first attempt and was a kit I got at a show. I was a little intimidated by the free motion echo, but it turned out OK. So far I have made nothing for myself but the crocheted shrug you see in my avatar. I really love this website and have already been inspired by all your labors of love. Hopefully I can make some good friends and give and receive tips and hints as I learn this wonderful craft.

Hello craftybear - (or should I say night owl?). Thanks for the welcome. In the summer of 1971, I lived in Indianapolis. I liked it, except for the humidity. It would pour rain, stop rather quickly, then all would be dry, except for the air, about 15 minutes later. lol. Looking forward to hearing from you going forward. "Sew Happy Sharon"

What is the difference between, "Reply" and "Quote Reply"? I hit reply, but possibly should have done the latter. I looked at the rules, but must have missed the explanation. Sorry for any faux pax I might have committed.

"Quote reply" allows you to quote the previous writer, as I did with you. Reply doesn't.

Hello and welcome from SW Iowa. Glad to have you here. I love your gecko. What wonderful quilting too. My son would love your second one. It is so pretty. Love the purse too. Great job on all of them. Thanks for sharing.
