and where did you find it? I'm thinking of going to the book store and would like some suggestions. I don't know how to paper piece or quilt as you go yet. :(

I am making a baby quilt with pinwheels. They are so cute and fun to make. There are tons of patterns all over the Internet ...a lot of them are free. Take a look to see what intrigues you.

Oh no Loretta. Try it! It's paper pieced.
I was scared to death to do paper piecing. Thought it was WAY out of my league. I really just a beginner too. I go for the easy patterns.
Just sit and take your time, you will be able to do it.
    If I can, anyone can!

My favorites are log cabin and mariner's compass.
Loretta, I agree with tlrnhi that you should try paper piecing. It isn't difficult, it's just different than regular piecing. Check out these sites and give it a try :D :D :

My favorite is lone star/bethlehem star. I made my first from a book called Quilts, Quilts, Quilts. There are several versions of the book and it's a pretty helpful guide. I'd check it out from the library b4 deciding to buy.

Good luck. Can't wait to see what catches your eye.

My favorite is the Ohio Star... no, I'd have to say Churn Dash... or Log Cabin, but maybe it's the Friendship Star... :) -get my point??? I don't really have a favorite one... I love all of them - I actually made a baby quilt (36 x 36) that was just one Churn Dash block - supersized... it turned out cute.

I like Ohio Star, Snowball, a plain ole 9 patch, Irish Chains, etc.

Sometimes I'll just go through my books looking for inspiration - and pick patterns based on the fabric I want to use at a particular time...
I've said it before ... I like using traditional patterns with the newer wilder fabrics 8)

I like to do tumbling blocks, especially on children's quilts. I like to fussy cut pictures and make them scrappy, Uses up a lot of scrapes.
