I like to do my final join of the binding on the diagonal, just like I do the other joins. It is very hard to manipulate the ends on something as small as a potholder. Has anyone tried joining the ends before sewing it on?

I make a hanging loop using the binding . I start the binding and one corner then continue off the pot holder for about 4 inches , bring the 4 inches to the back for the loop. No joining the two ends this way.

I don't bind my potholders. I use the envelope method on them instead, then hand sew a small metal ring in one corner for hanging.

All my potholders are round. I do use binding and then sew on a bone ring.
