I haven't posted before so I hope I did it right. This is a quilt as you go quilt (except for the border)that I made for my brother when I found out he had cancer. He is cancer free now but is having a terrible time with ulcerative colitis and diverticulitis (or losis-I'm not sure which.) Here is the story that went with it:
The back of the quilt is stormy seas to represent the stormy times that are behind him. The front of the quilt is a lot of purple and lavender because that is the color that represents the kind of cancer he had. One of the stripes has a dragonfly that represents his angel Bobby (his son who died at 17) who watches over him. Around the border are squares with different dragonflies that represent all of his other angels that are surrounding him. The bright green sunflower border represents life (green) and the bright, sunny days ahead. I love you, Tom

This is a beautiful quilt Lori. So full of meaning and inspiration for your brother who's life sounds like it's been very stormy indeed. Lovely work!

Thank-you, everyone. I gave it to him at a family gathering and my daughter told me I had everyone crying. It's also the quickest start to finish quilt I ever made.
