The school principal where I teach is retiring this year. I wrote on an earlier post about making her a quilt for a gift from the faculty. Thanks to all of you I got great advice - even what fabric I should use (Thanks - LovinMySoldier!) Here's the earlier post: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-117877-1.htm
A quilting friend who is also a co-worker ended up sewing most of it, but I helped! :) I think it came out great and can't wait to reveal it at the retirement party we're hosting next week.
Fabric: fat quarter bundle from Clotilde
Pattern: Turning 12
Border is same as backing - from local quilt shop
Quilting - overall meander pattern done by friend who has only quilted for herself until now.
Label - our school mascot is Ricky Ricebird. (Only in Texas?) We work at Northside Elementary.

It needed to be red and white because those are our school colors, but I didn't really want a rah-rah quilt. That's where this board came in to send me in the right direction.

This is absolutely luscious. I hope you get a picture of her receiving it. I am sure she will be moved by such a great gift.
