This is a quilt I made for some friends of mine that own a bar and grill. They had been saving the purple bags from all their bottles of Crown Royal whiskey. It was a little messy to work with. The fabric is similar to a flannel and I had purple fuzzies all over the house!

Quilt made of Crown Royal bags.

That turned out well. It is kind of a unique fabric to use. One of my guild members made each of us at the retreat a little bag using the Crown Royal bags. She stuffed it with squares of fabric that we could use to start sewing on to avoid having our piecing sucked into the bobbin case as some times happenes. It is our custom to give little favors at each meal durring the retreat. That particular lady always comes up with neat gifts. Her husband owned a neighborhood tavern for years.

    It is beautiful.

I saw two quilts this past weekend at a quilt show in Grass Vallley, California made out of the Crown Royal bags as a center block for the stars. I have a cousin and all he drinks is Crown Royal, I am hoping he saves all the bags. I want to make him a quilt.
