Here is the inspiration for this quilt. I was searching and reading everywhere about string quilts and found this mini. There were no instructions or details on it except that it is about 12 inches.

And then here is a closer look at the blocks. Like I said, I read all I could and then started sewing. These are pieced on 10" squares of kabnet wax paper. I cut them in half diagonaly, should have skipped that step but I always learn things the hard way.

That brown quilt is beautiful! Of course I am biased, since those are my colors. Lucky Mom.

I love the colors. I like the design of the top, too.

I don't see "drab" at all in this quilt. I think of the colors in fall when the leaves are glowing all the different colors when I see this one.

I avioded looking at this because of the title. Boy was I wrong what a cool quilt you made, I like everyone else wants to know...what is your pattern?

I am tickled you made what your Mom wanted, I am sure she will love it.Give your Mom a napkin when she opens it up (to catch the drool)

Well I love earthy tones, and I just LOVE that quilt. I've got a brown one I'm piecing by hand...pics of it here somewhere. Browns are definitely my thing, and I think you did a wonderful job for someone who didn't like the colors.

Not a brown fan either, but this would make a nice scrap quilt, too :-)
