i made my fabric wraps. I got mat board on sale at hobby lobby for 3.00 a large sheet. i cut it 6x13 wrapped my material around it i used blue tape to hold the ends. I wrote on the tape the amount of material but if you count the wraps you won't have to write them every wrap is 6 inches so 2 wraps 12 inch . I have 3-four draw file cabinets i keep them in. i got 15 boards from each sheet of mat board so saved quit a bit

I've been thinking about doing the same thing with cardboard; that won't hurt the fabric will it seeings as how that is how it comes in the first place.

Boy, the "after" pictures are great. Can you explain what these are? Plastic? Cardboard? Is there some way to secure the fabric?

After I put the fabric on the cardboard, I jut take a long straight pin and secure the last wrap that goes around the cardboard.Works for me!

Click on the link in my post. The boards are made out of an acid free plastic. You can secure the fabric with vinyl coated paperclips, or Bolt Buddy clips.
