It has the singer swing away motor but I need a new rubber on the little wheel that touches the bigger wheel. The guy I bought her from said he thinks the contacts are bad in the foot pedal. DH can hardly wait to tinker with her but even if she never works properly she will be a beauty to look at once she's cleaned up.
Beautiful Redeye, but 'Annabelles' birthdate is November 3, 1920. I was really surprised when you said 1910, as I think the Redeye was first produced around 1913 or so. Anyway, it is really easy to get those numbers confused when you get into 7 digit numbers!

Congratultions! She was probably one of the first to get electroized (my word), because it was in the 1920's, that people started getting machines that were not people powered.

Enjoy her! Oh and you have a classic Model 66!

Yes, that is the way most White's attach. Mine too!

You learn something new everyday. I have never seen feet attatched like that before. Kathie

Well the whole purpose of this shop is for anyone who likes vintage machines can come on in pull up a stool and sit back and talk about them. It is a friendly laid back place to hang out and I want everyone to feel like family. You know some of the the things that we talk about might not be "museum quality" and we might have a few things wrong but by golly we are learning just like the next person. This is not a stuffy gallery, this is an old timey sewing shop where you can kick your feet up and just shoot the bull.

Not only that Billy, but, this shop is family as well as an educational place. We are all teachers and at the same time students. This is a very kind and caring place to be. This is a wonderful place to be and I thank you and everyone else here. Kathie

That is really unique that it has a friction drive motor on the machine and it has the Singer badge on it. Normally you would have the belt driven motors on the machine since the handwheel has the provisions for it. Makes me think this was a "Dealer installed item".

Singer were first using electric motors on their machines in 1898.

About NB I was a member and was able to sign on to it maybe 2 weeks ago. Tried to sign one several times last week and it wouldn't accept my password so think since I am on this board I have been blackballed. Has anyone else had this problem in the last few weeks?
I cannot sign on either.

Don't know if you read the post but Billy has asked that no one mention that other site again on this board.

I cannot sign on either.
