I, too will be leaving next Thurday. However, my husband and I worked at Bayshore Camp this year during the camping season. They are having a open quilting retreat there in Oct. I don't know if it is all sold out or not. I think you can get lodging and meals. There is a quilt shop owner whos is doint it.

Got to their web page BayShorecamp.org (I think) They are in Sebewaing Mi right by te Sugar Factory

Brighton and Fabric Fair both sound great to me.

I was up north this past week and went to a few quilt shops. Gaylord has a beautiful quilt shop, Delphines, loved it. Of course there is Ice House in Grayling that is wonderful. Both of those can be done in a day. Two others on the way there are Crockers Attic and Carolines, both in West Branch and only three doors down from each other.

In another direction there is Mary Maxim and Sew Elegant in Port Huron and I'm sure there must be some others in that area or direction.

Just some ideas that would send us in different directions.

I would be interested in meeting but it depends on whether my dau in law has the baby or not. She is due Oct 12 so i could not commit at this time. There's a couple of shops I know. Romeo has Creative corners and then the Pincushion in Imlay City and Sisters in Quilting in Marlette. All are great. North of Pt Huron a shop has moved in at Lexington but I can't remember wht it is called. Harbor Beach has the corner store.

A really great quilt store, terrific selection, is The Quilt Place in Tecumseh, MI. There is a wonderful small restaurant just a block away called British Tea House. The food is good and all teas are served in real china teapots and cups/saucers. A great lunch experience.

I've been to the quilt store in Tecumseh. It's called The Quilt Patch. It's huge and the gals there are very helpful and friendly. I met Watterstide and a friend of hers there earlier this year. After shopping, we had lunch and a great time chatting and sharing. Yes, another good recommendation.

I will keep a watch on the thread for dates to Brighton/Howell and Bay City. If the dates that are chosen work for me I will be there.
