First, a question--are there videos showing how to oil and lubricate the machine and how to load the bobbin into the bobbin case?

ok the pics:

You can see them bigger here at flickr:

closeup of the dings on the front. Just the paint is scratched-the metal underneath looks fine

underside of the top-you can see some paint is worn off here

this is the stuff that came with it (feet, etc)

buttonhole attachment

these are the trims that came with it. They must be pretty old.

so from these pics does it look like it was worth it? ($135 plus tax)

I am no expert, but I would say you definitely got a good deal. I believe you can download a service manual online for free. That is how I got one for my FW.

http://www.singer-featherweight.com/...viceman-1.html

Manual is online in 3 parts, this is the link to part one, I think you will be able to find the other 2 from this page.

Looks good to me. I have one as well. The 8 cent bias trim is a kick - as well as the others. You better believe they are old!

It was a great deal. I have had a few with chips like that on the bed. I took model paint and filled the chips in. It makes them almost un-noticeable. At least they are less noticeable. Enjoy!! I am sue you will love it.

If you google Featherweight dating you can find out the year it was manufactured by the serial number. I think you got a great deal, you're gonna love that little baby if you go to classes sewing groups.
