I work on a Singer 401A which looks like the same machine you have. I have had it for over 50 years and love it. Last metal head Singer made I believe. They aren't worth much on the open market (I was offered $26. on a trade in if I would get rid of it on my own!)but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I have the card table with inset for machine that came with it for an extra $10!

Me too. I don't have any free space to move anything to so I would like to live vicariously through your organizational skills, lol.

lazygram................I have the 401A. Was my FIRST wedding anniversary gift. Still a work horse........I have a Brother 3750T I use some, but I always go back to my 401A......
Too heavy to move about the house, but thats OK. I have carpet in the room this machine is in, but I try to be careful with pins...........
Happy Quilting..............

Good for you. That is the way to do it. Get everything out. Clean it up and bring back what is necessary and some unecessary and fill the room up with quilting comforts.

Yep, what I was thinking was right. You must be related to me. However, I think I have more STUFF in the room than you have. I might have been collecting longer. LOL
