Default Here are the steps to binding my quilts

Here are the steps to binding my quilts. I use the top piece -extended- to “hem” using an automated stitch.

1. On topside of quilt, fold edge of top piece to the front 1 ½ inches and secure with pins. I have a mark on my scissors, which saves time.

Carefully trim excess batting and backing by cutting close to fold.

This is a view from the backside after the first edge is complete. Trim the other sides.

When finished trimming batting and backing, turn quilt to the back. The front should extend about 1 1/4 inches all around. This is the binding!

Begin in middle of side; fold twice to create a hem and clip in place.
