Your pincushion is so lovely. Your PDF is very professional looking. Two silly questions: do you leave the cardboard in and do you leave the CD in?

Thank you lots2do! Not silly at all...and yes you leave them both in. It helps you keep the circle shape when you pull the gathering tight and it keeps the bottom flat. But if you had a reason to want to take them out, that would be fine too, but probably harder to keep the circle perfect.

QuiltingJaguar I am really sorry, but after making several attempts, I can't seem to change the format. It seems to route me to having to sign up for some Microsoft program every time I try.
Do you have the same trouble with all PDF files? If not: Did you click right below the picture of the cake on the words in green "How to Make a Cake Pincushion"?
if you PM me with your email I will try to work up a non PDF version for you.

Making a tube and putting a little yellow 'flame' on it would be no problem, but how to attach the candle to the cake and make it stand up is what I'm trying to figure out. Thanks.

I would love to see how this is done but can not take the format you posted it. PDF gives me nothing but symbols.

    Hi Jaguar,
Thanks! If you PM me with your email address I can send it to you as an attached file and we can see if that works works for you. Or you could ask a computer wiz how to set up your computer so it will open PDF files.
