Ice Dyed Fabric
#62
Great tut Melody. I have tubs of the dyes and have never really done it but love the ice technique. Something to be aware of tho.... The dyes that come in powder form, cause one to be sensitized, if inhaled for a period of time. It is recommended to wear a mask when sprinkling the powder. Once the powder is dissolved into liquid it is fine.

I just found this while browsing thru tutes. Thanks for posting it!
Great use icemaker ice, which I detest the taste of generally. (I make my ice with reverse osmosis filtered water in the mini ziploc disposable cups for a nice chunk of ice per glass.)

I have a front loading machine. Stupid question... do I add the dawn dish soap in the disperser with the regular laundry soap? Im guessing that's the only way? I'm just worried about damaging my machine since they specify that only high eficiency soaps are used.

EEEK!! I have no idea! I have a Maytag that is one of the last before HE, so can't offer any suggestions other than to use real synthrapol. I have a suspicion that the Dawn will make a sudsy mess in the HE machine.

I have a stainless steel sink and it washes right out. No scrubbing or elbow grease...my white, formica counters on the other hand have to be cloroxed to get the spills off of them. It wipes right off my congolium floors though.
