Default interlocked squares with a fussy cut center

As requested from my Boom 10 swap buddies, here is a tutorial for my interlocked squares block with a fussy cut center. ( I will complete a separate tutorial for a paper pieced version of this block). This is very picture heavy so please be patient. I will add instructions after all pictures are loaded....

Okay,

Sketched pattern to 12" graph. Cut out center and used window to dtermine fussy cut center. Marked and cut center. Then used rest of pattern to determine cuts for rest of block. See list above.

Next....cut 3 7/8" & 2 1/8 " squares on diagonal to make 4 half square triangles of each. ( I startch pryor to cutting due to bias edges created).
Use one large HST and stitch 1/2 way across one edge of center. Lift aside from unstitched end. Place a 1 3/4" x 6" strip along edge and sew to approx 1/2 way mark.

Sew next large HST in place. Cut and trim off corner at 1 1/2", same as before. Add smaller HST as done on previous corner. You will repeat this process 4 times.
