    I use my 6" x 24" ruler works well on my shelves.

    I use my 4x12 ruler and the fabric stands "on edge" in the drawer.

    I wonder if I should try this with a smaller ruler with my fat quarters and remnants. I store all mine in the open on tall CD Towers....right now they are folded but not all the same, so they don't look quite as nice as they could....Hm. Maybe use a 4" or 5" ruler?

    At the LQS we use this method when folding longer lengths of fabric...customers are always grateful for the neat folding. I store my own fabrics this way, too. Thanks for sharing.
