Hello Everyone!

Sorry for the bump in the road! I made a small mistake on the figuring the strips. The fabric yardage is right, so worst case scenario if I am off still by a little is you have to cut another strip. (or opposite you have an extra strip.) So here we go, Everyone ready!? Rotary cutters on the mat.. go!!

Missy....What does this mean?

2strips 2 ½ x4 ½
Total pcs: 16

It's for the wall hanging. I haven't ever done anything like this. I am going to see what I can come up w/at home. I don't think I have enough fabric but how would it be if it were scrappy? Just in case I can find enough fabric.

Just wondering.

This means you cut two strips that are 2.5'' inches each, Then you cut each strip into 4.5'' units, you should end up with 16 units that are 2.5x4.5'' rectangles. Does this make sense?

Are all strips WOF? I also found this confusing but if they are WOF, it makes sense to me.

candi 12-16-2010 04:27 PM

I believe they are WOF.

Gday, am i right in saying that WOF is width of Fabric, which would mean either 42" or 44"

Yes you are correct. Unless you are using FQs, then 21/22 (so you would have to cut 4 strips instead of 2.

It means cut 2 strips 2 1/2 " wide.. from that cut them 2 1/2x4 1/2 rectangle. you will need 16 pcs Scrappy is ok as long as you keep it in the same shade value. :) If you put up some pics I can help you out.

Hi there Michelle! Yes scrappy will work as along as you have a focus that is consistent. Stay with in the color families and try to stay with in the color values. If you send pictures I may be able to help you out..:) Hope this helps!

Just a quick question on the cutting instructions for color 1 do we cut both 2 1/2 x 4 1/2 and the 2 1/2 x 2/1/2 that is on the revised sheet? Don't want to cut the wrong pieces. Thanks LuAnn

quiltstodo 12-17-2010 01:14 PM

Yes we are suppose to cut both sizes

LUANNH 12-17-2010 01:16 PM

yup, it's two different pieces. :) that's why I put them in different colors so that it was easy to see. It's better to ask! Thanks.

I got the cutest fabric last weekend! Honest, all I bought was the big print focus fabric!!! I am really on a quest to use up my stash. I can't wait to get started, but I am glad we are waiting until after Christmas, as I am still making little Christmas things.

Goes from wallhanging to Kingsize... :)

KarenR 12-19-2010 01:13 PM

I'm just a little confused. I want to make the king size it says:
28 strips 2 ½ 4 ½
Total pcs:224
28 strips 2 ½x 2 ½
Total 448
Which one do I do. I think from reading the posts the top one would it be possible to put the list with just the correct one up - or tell me the link. I get confused easily when quilting. Kids say it's all the gray hair I'm getting.

Three threads: What are they?

LUANNH 12-19-2010 03:35 PM

I asked the same question and was told we cut both sizes. I hope this helps.

Poor Karen.. I don't mean to confuse anyone..Color 1 has two different sizes that are needed, so yes cut both. Each clue I will have on top, hence the different threads. :) Which will be posted on the General thread of Calling All Mystery quilters.. HUGS.. Hope this helps
