This is for a flying geese unit. I know there are many ways to do this and this is just one more to add to your skill set.
It has an advantage of being made from just three squares to get two units. I made mine from five inch squares but any size will do as long as they are all the same size. I made this into a pdf file as I just could not get the pictures to upload. I am not sure why, as I have not had that problem before. If you just cannot get the PDF to download then pm me and I will send it to you in an e-mail. It is about seven megabites so if you are on slow dial up you will have a long wait. Enjoy. |
Cool! Thanks!

i always like to make these oversized and trim off the extra, just to be sure that they are squared properly. thanks for sharing
Thank you! I will try that.
What a great way to do this! So simple, yet sew effective!
Love it thanks.
Thank you -------- simple and easy (and who doesn't like simple and easy?).
Great idea. I've avoided the flying geese just because they look so time consuming and tedious. Just may try them now. Thanks.
Smart, thanks for sharing.
Thanks, can't wait to try it.
Thank you for this easy way to make Flying geese. I always hated making them the old fashioned way. I copied it. OK?"
THANK YOU---afraid to try flying Geese pattern but not NOW!!!
Great idea. I've always wasted fabric doing the two squares of sky and then cutting the extra back piece off. PS, a BIG thank you.
Thank you, thank you, thank you
I'm about to have to make a gazillion flying geese - and you have saved the day! |
The Tute is very clear.....I need pictures...LOL! But please instruct me on a very basic question.....What measurements do I use to arrive at certain sized geese blocks?

I've been looking at this pattern to try for my brother a lap rug for his wheel-chair. This one looks like it would be a whole lot easier than any of the other ones. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much! I can really see the possibilities of this method, and its advantages for those of us who don't always manage to sew a perfect 1/4 " seam. Your method is not wasteful, is flexible and forgiving... all really important!

Thanks, Kellen42. I definitely will be trying this!
Hate to ask - but could you possibly revise and add in another picture of the square after you have cut it in half and after you have squared up? For us "dummies" out here :)
am anxious to try these. They can be annoying at times.
I would also like to see the square after you have cut it in half. Just so I know I'm doing it right.
Can't wait to try it. Thanks
THANK U

Now why didn't I think of that!
