I sew the rows vertically and add a vertical pane (sash) between vertical rows. Good question!

This is a great tutorial on this process. I'm going to be making a window quilt very soon and I was looking for the best method.

Thank you! Have fun with my technique. Experiment with pane size etc. Maybe you will be hooked too. Every panel is "attic window" worthy IMHO. :D

When cutting up a panel.....just divide/cut it up to your liking. No need to "allow" for pane sizes...the eye corrects the image. Do not over think this.
