[quote=sammygirlqt]I would really like to learn this information but I can't open the file. I can only save it. This is probably because I don't have the MicroSoft Office program installed. New computers don't come with Microsoft installed so you have to buy it for over $100.00.[/quote
Wow ! I just googled coping stips & found this wonderful site.--sylviasquiltdepot.com--she has all kinds of useful measurements, etc. scroll down quite a ways to see the coping strips info.

That is really interesting. I never heard of coping strips before. So many years quilting and I am still learning. That's a good thing! Thanks for the download!

This tutorial shows how to calculate the size of the strips that need to be cut. I hope it's clear--it's the first tutorial I've ever even thought about posting. I also hope it will be useful to someone besides me--I've needed to do this calculation several times, so I finally decided to write equations for it.

Thanks for the help. The very first quilt I started had to have coping strips, and I just lucked out that they were correct. The border was pieced just like the one in your tutorial.

You are a life saver! I have been working on a quilt that I have been putting together by the seat of my pants so to speak and I've struggling with just this problem for 3 days! I have a little less hair now than I did before, but I think you saved the rest of it!
Bless you for your patience!
Thanks!
