I might be interested in doing it scrappy too! But it might make it more difficult for placement of colors huh?

Blinky 12-31-2010 02:56 PM

Am I missing something or does it say the fabric requirements somewhere. Is it a two color quilt?

Blinky 12-31-2010 03:00 PM

I feel for you. Our one only fabric shop is a ways away but not as far as yours! I order a lot on line.....I only buy fabric on a good sale. Because you have to consider shipping charges.

The blog has the most updated version: http://mysimystery.wordpress.com/

Fabric requirements, cut list and the first clue are posted on the blog. You need nine fabrics: one for the focus and eight that go with it.

Blinky 12-31-2010 03:02 PM

Thanks I am on my way to check it out!!

Blinky 12-31-2010 04:13 PM

I am new to Quilting Board and would like to do this mystery quilt in queen size (I think!)

Did I miss something? I can't find anything that tells how many different fabrics are needed and the yardage of each needed.

I like the birds, has more color choices to choose from.. BUT... I like the flowers too! :) I'd go w/ the birds for now.. You can always make another w/ the flowers.. *Wink! I also want to remind you will have to make sure they are 12 1/2" square.. May have to add a border on it so that it will meet that requirement? HUGS!

I'm fairly new to quilting so I don't always know the correct name for some blocks. Take care, Chris

Yes Seweasy, it's a 'variation' of a flying geese :) You are doing just fine! HUGS! Send us pictures so I can post them on my blog!

Missy

Seweasy.. here you go http://flourishingpalms.blogspot.com...-tutorial.html here is a flying geese tutorial. The only thing I do different is I use an inch instead of the 7/8"..(rather trim if I need to... it's easier to take off instead of put on!) :) Maybe this will help you for your jacket pattern?

Hi Goldendog! I have thought about the scrappy, here's what I have ideas on it. If you use fat quarters, it's 2 of those strips vs. my one. I hope this helps you. I could do fabric requirements, but it may take me a little longer. But you could use this as a rule of 'thumb' so to speak. Sorry it took me two days to come back to you! I would get color families together that you like for each color and see what comes around! :) Lots of hugs!

Hi Missy this is part of my Clue 1 blocks. Had so much fun making them. Noted the stripes are all different - this will add extra dimension to the quilt i am sure. Cannot wait for Wednesday for Clue 2 - unfortunately i am back at work so will only be able to start at night time. Patience is needed
