Ok, I guess I better get sewing. How long do we have before the next piece is shown?
|
we only have 1 piece when we have finished (as shown in the final picture)Correct? or are we supposed to repeat multiple times?
|
Oh boy, I was going to do this, but I never picked my fabric! lol

I love that you have all the different sizes listed in your instructions ... but am still confused for clue #1 - what is the 1a? Are we making two sets? one with twice as many as the other?
Example - crib size: 1 - square color 1 and rectangle background color, 160 pieces - when sewn together you will have 80 rectangles with one corner contrast triangle. 1a - same thing, but 80 pieces, will have 40 constructed rectangles with corner contrast triangle. Then repeat with the contrast triangle mirrored. Put together 1 with mirror 1 for a total of 80 pieces; and then put together another set from 1a/1a-mirror pieces for 40 more constructed rectangles. Total 120 constructed blocks. Is that right? |
ok, thanks...I better get my fabrics in order too!...clean out sewing room, find the rest of my fabric for the mystery, visit on quilt board, and SEW...

I am glad that Linda asked because I was wondering too. Thanks for clearing up the question. Then repeat with the contrast triangle mirrored. Hi! Missy, I got my first set block finished. Never done any like this before, came out pretty good. If turned with points down, would they be consider flying geese blocks. Why I ask, I'm wanting to work on a sweatshirt jacket that calls for flying geese blocks and the blocks I just finished look like the blocks called for on the jacket layout.
I'm fairly new to quilting so I don't always know the correct name for some blocks. Take care, Chris |

Here you go, Missy. I think you said the blocks would used in a north, south, east and west direction so that I set them up. I love the colors so far! Can't wait to see what they look like with the rest but they blend so well with the roosters. Chris

Is it possible to make this quilt scrappy? Do you know what the fabric requirements are? This is the first year that I've seen this, and am not sure about what I need. Judy

I have not seen the Mysi's Mystery before. Is it too late to start and if not how. Looks like it may be fun!!!

Thanks, Missy! Just signed up!

well, I will have to hold off on doing the mystery quilt, I will have to see if I can find two of the fabrics here locally, I bought my fabric off of the first fabric requirement sheet so I am about a yard short on one and almost 2 yards short on another and of course they were some of the ones I purchased in Ft. Worth .... (which is about 4 hours away)
|
All righty, all my fabrics and strips are cut, and now I just need to sit and sew, I should be able to get it the first clue pieces done by Wednesday. Woo hoo!
Missy, the photo gallery is a great idea, and so many great fabrics, I can't wait see how these quilts will turn out. |
