I received one of these from a friend as a gift- keep my binding necessities in it and ended up making one for every woman of importance for my son's wedding- of course, out of fabs of the wedding colors!

Why type fabric is this--a silky kind? or cottons?

The photos of the ones shown are made with cotton fabrics.

I have seen some made from silk/satin and they looked gorgeous!

judykay 01-04-2011 07:57 AM

So cute. Would make a nice gift bag.

MelPop 01-04-2011 08:14 AM

I've made these out of ready made napkins. The edges are finished and I get them on sale after the holidays.

 EXCELLENT IDEA!!

MillieH 01-04-2011 08:20 AM

I can think of so many uses for these and people who would enjoy having one or more. I'm also going to fool around with it to see if I can get enough silk out of men's ties (may have to do some piecing)to do outside or lining for these. I have a couple bags of discarded ties I've been trying to find a good use for.

stormatsea45 01-04-2011 10:56 AM

This looks like an Amy Butler pattern, I think, that I paid $12 something for. I was a little upset after I saw how simple it was. But of course you couldn't see the inside of the pattern before you bought it. They are so cute, and you can make so many sizes after you know the method.

Annz 01-04-2011 05:19 PM

Cute

mrsreeves2 01-04-2011 05:57 PM

I am bookmarking this one! Great gift idea! I have yards and yards of black and white satin that would make up nice with this. A few Christmas 2011 gifts already in the planning stages. Gotta love it!
