Belles asked for this tute after reading my other tute on triangles.

The diamond shape is snowballed but not with a square -- trhe snowball looks more like a kite. You can change the width or length of the diamond you want with adjustments to the "kite" you use.

This tute is in PDF format; you will need Adobe which can be downloaded free here: http://www.adobe.com/products/reader.html

Enjoy! :-)

Great Tute!

Is there a way you can post it here, so that we can download it to our computer? instead of needing to print it? I'd appreciate that!!

Please? and Thanks!!

blueangel 08-04-2011 08:03 AM

Thanks Jan.

The tute is in PDF format; is that the reason you can't download it to your computer?

I have adobe and can open it fine ... I can print it. Just can't save it to my computer.

I haven't used adobe in months...it always seemed to update itself at the worst possible moments, and it just had a lot of things that weren't user friendly (to me)... I use Nitro now, and I like it so much better...and it's free! Just another option for you if you can't use adobe the way you'd like..

I didn't have any trouble downloading it. Good tute, Jan. Thanks.

For some reason, my email will not allow me download tutorials, etc. that have to be opened. So I now email that page to another email account and can open and save with no problem. Until I figured that out, I got pretty frustrated because I was missing lots of really good stuff offered generously by members here. Thank you for this tutorial!

I don't want to sound stupid, but do you pin the paper kite shape to the fabric and cut around that shape each and every time? That's my impression when you make your own templates which is why I have never made a shape that way. I would be nuts at the end of the process.

bchuggins 08-05-2011 03:40 PM

Great Tutorial - Thanks!

Nolee,
Make you kite out of cardboard; stack your fabrics 4-6 deep and then cut with a rotary; at least a bit faster this way.

I'm using Internet Explorer and am able to save the pdf files by mousing up to File menu and choosing Save As. Cannot copy and paste the pdfs, or save in my usual manner (Alt F, A) but using File has worked each time. Good luck!

audsgirl 08-05-2011 09:24 PM

Thanks so much Jan! It looks very neat.

Lucy90 08-06-2011 09:55 AM

I don't have any trouble downloading. If you put your cursor in the middle of a page toward the end this bar comes up if you have adobe and you can save or print. I just save it to my document folder. I have a folder in documents that is titled Patterns from QB. Just click on documents, click on folder you want it in and hit save.
