I drew templates on card stock. The blade is 5 inches long, 3-1/2 at the top and 1 inch at the bottom, the equalateral triangle is 3-1/2 inches. This is the TRACING size that I did with my Fruxion pen and added seam allowances when I rotary cut.

I trimmed my inserts straight across to reduce bulk, I also find using a thinner fabric for the inserts works best.

The folded part of the insert is at the blade bottom with the skinny raw point at the top side. Put the next blade on top and sew.
