Just watched making pinwheels on utube and it doesn't get any easier than that

Cathy

Remember that these measurements are for the 4 square you get - NOT the finished pinwheel.
2" squares = 1" HST
2 1/2" = 1 1/2
3 1/2 " = 2"
4" - 2 1/2
5" = 3 1/2
6" = 4
7" = 4 1/2
8" = 5"
8 1/2 = 5 1/2
9" - 6
10" - 7
I did find it easier to trim all my corners after I pressed when I was making small size for a 3" finished pinwheel.

If I want a finished pinwheel block that is 8 inches, how big do I start out with before making the first cut?? Thanks.

For those of us who 'don't do math', thanks sew much!

you will start with the 7" squares, which gives you 4.5" pinwheels.
sew them together to get your 8.5 " un-finished block.

Thank you, will file this away for when I want to do it.

Thank You for the chart and all the good info. It will be put to good use. I love making things with HST'S. Going to try this. It sounds much faster and less triming.

Yes Missouri have so many easy patterns and tuts that I could spend hours on youtube just watching and wishing I had all the time in the world to do them.
