I wonder if the 10 degree ruler for the spiral table runner is the same...guess I will ave to try it!

This is a great tutorial and I can't believe it,my ruler is on it's way to me! Thank you so much. Now I know I can get started as soon as my mail runs. Yipppeeee!

Thanks for the great information, I also have this blade but have not used it. I have a dresden plate that is already cut by the mom of close friend of mine and am going to try putting the blades together like this instead of turning each one under a 1/4" at the top like they use to do.

Hi, I am not experienced enough to make this one. But I recently went to the 3 day "Sewing with Nancy" when she talked about this. For the circle in the middle, she had a really clever hint: sew interfacing to the circle, turn it inside out (I would recommend clipping along so it lay down flat). And then trim the middle of the interfacing out carefully so it's not so bulky. Now the circle is nicely finished, all you have to do is applique in on top of your form. Hope this is understandable.
I actually do it when I make interfacing for clothes as well.

I have the same tool. Only thing I would add is I made a template for the points out of heavy cardboard so I would get my points straight and in center - made all the difference in the world.

wow-thanks for posting this-
I have had that ruler for ages and could never visualize the process from the directions that came w/ it.
