I just tried this and it looks great, and very easy and fun, but I did something wrong, when I cut my 11" block in half and turned it and placed it on the top, it is much bigger than needed? Hummmm what did I do I wonder?

I hope this makes sense to you. You lay the flap on top of the square and then you measure down the center 5 1/2", then you take a ruler from the center and angle it up to each corner. It helps if you make one and then use it as a template.

So the flap isn't an 11"block cut in half?

No, It is 11" Wide to fit across the top edge of the square and then measuring down the center of the square 5 1/2" it is angled to the left upper corner and the right upper corner.

I hope this helps, I would love to see yours when you are finished! It really is a fun one to do. One thing I found is to make sure when sewing on the lace you are catching all of the material underneath.

Looks like you sewed the lace on top, I had a bigger (wider), so I turned and sewed it and flipped it, I will try and post in a couple of days. thanks
