I love it that is beautiful.. and thanks for the tute on it, makes it a lot easier sometimes, to see how things go together... Great job...

GrammaJudy, thanks for this tute! I have some handerchiefs that had been my mother's and now I know how I can make use of them and share with my sisters. Hopefully I'll have them done by next summer when I head west to visit! Thanks again!

Oh how beautiful and what a grand idea. I've never seen anything like this envelope quilt. Now I just have to make one of these !! I love this board 'cause I find so many wonderful ideas...you ladies are all so smart!

VERY PRETTY. JUST LOOKS SO FEMININE.

lucyb 08-26-2011 08:14 PM

You did a great job. It is very pretty,I can see a smaller version as a wall quilt hanging over my bed. I also have been saving hankies. Many of them hsave tatted edging and others are flowered. This would be perfect for them.

maggiemuggins 08-26-2011 08:36 PM

Beautiful quilt...I was thinking of making my sister a quilt for her 75th..I just love this pattern...How much eyelet do you think it would take for a double bed quilt?

kemory 08-27-2011 05:08 AM

Thanks for the great tutorial...now I know what to do with my flower prints!

Probably about 2 1/2 yards, but the best way to figure it out would be to figure 11" per square.

So the eyelet blocks are 11 in square cut in two?

Lovely!!!

colleen1978 08-29-2011 06:16 AM

Very cute...would that be a great idea for a child's quilt? Make pockets like that and hide little toys and stuffed animals in them...you could use different closures like snaps, ties, and buttons...watch out when I get a brainstorm!

That would be addorable!

Janice Thompson 08-29-2011 05:12 PM

I THINK THIS WOULD BE A GOOD BLOCK TO ADD TO A FIDGET QUILT AND MAKE IT INTO A POCKET AND PUT VELCRO AS THE FASTENER

wanda lou 08-30-2011 10:20 PM

Thanks for sharing , I really like this and will try it soon.

What a clever idea and so feminine

Tinker Tots 09-11-2011 02:22 PM

I just tried this and it looks great, and very easy and fun, but I did something wrong, when I cut my 11" block in half and turned it and placed it on the top, it is much bigger than needed? Hummmm what did I do I wonder?

I hope this makes sense to you. You lay the flap on top of the square and then you measure down the center 5 1/2", then you take a ruler from the center and angle it up to each corner. It helps if you make one and then use it as a template.

Tinker Tots 09-11-2011 03:05 PM

So the flap isn't an 11"block cut in half?

Grandma Judi 09-11-2011 03:12 PM

No, It is 11" Wide to fit across the top edge of the square and then measuring down the center of the square 5 1/2" it is angled to the left upper corner and the right upper corner.

I hope this helps, I would love to see yours when you are finished! It really is a fun one to do. One thing I found is to make sure when sewing on the lace you are catching all of the material underneath.

Tinker Tots 09-11-2011 03:25 PM

Looks like you sewed the lace on top, I had a bigger (wider), so I turned and sewed it and flipped it, I will try and post in a couple of days. thanks
