i love this glue method couldnt keep a seam straight to save my life and all my xmas wall hangings were done this way for seams and bindings. but i have 2 questions:
is alenes tacky glue the same as elmers? and i have a heck of a time with the actual quilting part and on all my wall hangings i used fusable fleece and wonder under but am wonder if using the glue to baste the whole thing would work hate basting spray ended up everywhere and tried june taylor fusable batting doesnt always fuse |
No aleene's tacky glue is not the same and will very likely mess up your machine. Also keep in mind that it's elmer's school glue, not the regular elmer's. I'm pretty sure the regular stuff is not the same.
personally I wouldn't glue a big thing like that but if you do be sure every bit of it is dry before stitching. |
Thanks so much for the tute!! I have searched and searched for those liylle tiny tips and can't find them. You said a thrift store, Like W mart? What dept.?

I'm going to have to try this. So does the glue really keep everything together the whole time? I am amazed by your corners. AND, what can I do this ahead of time and maybe finish it the next day or two later?

I loved your tutorial, I am doing a quilt called French Rose, the rose shapes are cut and the stacked one on top of other and sewn in place. I was pinning and sticking my fingers, .I found some clear school glue by elmers and started using it. I let the blocks set for a while and went back and sewed then up, no sliding, no wrinkles and no pin sticks, I will be using glue a lot. Thanks again.

I was looking on the internet for the bottles and tops and found information that said that you can buy empty bottles with the same size tips. I found them here: http://www.gauntindustries.com/2_Oun...s-HYPO_49.html
