I did try using the Elmer's School Glue instead of pins and it's even easier! Do everything the same as the tute but after pressing the 45 degree angle, lift up the top border piece and put a small line of glue along the underside of the pressed edge. Lay it down, make sure it lines up, and press to heat set and dry the glue.

Open it up and sew on the pressed line. The glue will wash out when the quilt is laundered.

I am doing one now. I am matching the corner mitre first and then measuring down the side of the top to make sure the other end will also mitre. So far with the fabric I am using it does. If you want it to appear continuous then you have to work with the corners first. Jinny Beyer says that if doing this the side will come out too long then to take small pleats in the border.

If my quilt is the same measurements on all 4 sides (square) then I choose a point in the pattern repeat that I want the corners to be and mark at the center and measure out both sides and mark the ends. When I pin it I do it like a normal border where I pin between the center and one side, then pin between those points, etc. Any fullness eases in like usual.
