What a great way to go about making mitered corners. So much easier than other methods, which I've never seemed to get just right. LucyInTheSky - Sewing all the way to the edge worked perfectly for me, in fact, you must do it that way for this to work out right. I was a lazy and did not do the pinning, but used fusible tape to anchor the fabric in the right place before stitching down. Came out great! Thanks for your helpful tutorial Pamela!

Your work looks great but maybe I got up too early, I just can't grasp it all.
It looks as clear as mud. Can you give us a video tute? |
I am now using Elmer's washable school glue to hold it, a tiny line of glue at the pressed angle. It works flawlessly! Thanks to Sharon Schamber's tutorial on binding for giving me the idea to glue it then sew it.

Great tut!! Thanks for sharing, I got alot out of it. :)

This is the way I miter corners. I found a tut. on-line that taught this method. I also taught this to our members at our quilt club. It is a very easy way to do. Great tut. Thanks for the lesson.

Thank you so much for this! I like knife edge miters too and could never figure out how to get them that way.

Thank you. This is the easiest way so far that I have seen. I have a quilt that I want to make the end corners squared off so they do not drag on the floor. I don't know if that makes any sense or not, but I saw some quilts in Santa Clara done this way. The pattern that I used has half triangles on the corners and so I will just leave off the bottom two. Do you think that I can still miter the corners the same way as you are doing above? Thank you for any help, I am new at this.

Thanks!
Thanks for the tutorial. I'm a novice quilter and appreciate all the help I get here! Do you use the the pressing board so that you can iron on a tabletop?? Is it just cardboard?

This is a great tutorial. I have always had problems getting nice sharp miters, so I will definitely try this method. Thank you .
