Yes to be honest I think the friend who showed me how to make these yrs and yrs ago, used 1/4" elastic but the ribbon works just as well so I'd say it is a matter of choice

I have concerns with using elastic - would it catch on the tissue?

You may be right about that. I was just thinking that it would be easier to put the tissues in and get them out again. Won't know until we try it.

Regardless, this is a GREAT idea for gift giving and I am going to share it with my quilting buddies. Am already thinking of how to jazz it up in different ways.

Don't you just love it when new ideas surface! :thumbup:

My friend always did hers with elastic and had no problems at all..but I just like the looks of the ribbon better so I tend to use the ribbon more....and how will you "jazz it up" ??? :lol:

string pieced or pp pattern on front be neat or machine embroidery..beads andbuttons...really could do a lot on a small item like this to make it Jazzy and a cute giftie

Once you start making these it doesn't stop. Just yesterday made two for daughters then needed 3 for pre-school teachers and now 2 for daughter's roommates. When will I have time to make one for me??? Thanks for the great idea!

OH That is super..they are ideal for little extra gift...I like to have something to give when I go to a friends for coffee or a small thank you gift etc so will have several of these made up...cut out 5 or 6 of them this a.m.
